Soak Time
This morning I learned a lot reading the Bible. I love learning new things. And being Saturday I didn't have places to be I went to lie down and I prayed a quick thoughtless prayer asking God to help me remember that. How selfish of me.
At Evangelistic Tabernacle in Nanaimo I went on (and later helped lead) and Encounter weekend. It's a weekend packed full of 18 sessions that walk through what the Bible says about being a Christian to how to walk that out. It's intense but so good. One of the sessions was a soaking session. A time where everyone grabs their pillow and sleeping bag and
"soaks" while quiet music plays in the background. (Sounds great hey?)
I got thinking and this question came to my mind. "How can something cool I've learned soak in without soak time?"
So the challenge to me was not only to read the Word but to take the time to let it soak in.
Philippians 4:8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
In this busy world take the time to learn and then time think on it.
